Mexican catering in Alderholt

Mexican catering in Alderholt, served fresh

We slow-cook the fillings ahead and finish them on site, and the salsas and guacamole are freshly made. We warm the tortillas as each order goes out. It suits office lunches and team days and retirement and leaving parties, with a build-your-own taco bar, burrito bowls and quesadillas.

For a place the size of Alderholt, your own garden or drive is often the best venue: no venue to hire and no cooking for you. Let us know about the route to the house. We will check the space, access and power with you before the day, so set-up goes smoothly.

What Mexican catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Parking and the route in
  • Serving staff
  • What’s on the menu

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.

Questions to ask before you book

Why choose Mexican catering in Alderholt?

A barbecue often means a host tied to the grill. Book us and the cooking happens in our food truck or trailer, so you can enjoy your event. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

Questions from Alderholt

We are having a ceremony at Church of St James: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Can you cater for special diets?

Diets are planned in advance, with options kept separate, though we can’t guarantee a kitchen with no trace of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

What food do you serve?

We agree the menu with each client, with fillings such as chicken tinga, carnitas or black beans. Take a look at the sample menu.

How much does Mexican catering cost?

We don’t publish set prices, because every event is different. Tell us your numbers and plans and we will send a quote for your event.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Can you serve in bad weather?

The truck or trailer serves in the rain, though guests need a covered place to eat.

What about power on site?

Tell us what the site has, for instance a supply from the venue, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Do you give allergen information?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we can’t promise a dish is allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Step by step

Service is quick and friendly: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. Afterwards we clear our area. Around midsummer it stays light in Alderholt until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 4:05pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we arrive, set up and serve hot food from our truck or trailer.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

How to prepare

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Still deciding on the menu? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will suggest a menu. To start, send a quick message through our quote form.

Catering for every guest

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Flag anyone with coeliac disease
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply

We have allergen information for every dish at the hatch, so guests can check before they order.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.
