Ampfield: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Mark?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How far is Ampfield from central London?

About 67 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not typically stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

How many guests can you serve?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

What can we choose from?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we will include them in the plan.

How our Mexican catering works in Ampfield

Mobile Mexican catering means the kitchen comes to you: we park our food truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. You do not need a kitchen at the venue. At anniversaries and engagements and markets and community events, we’ll put together a menu of fresh salsas and guacamole, burrito bowls and loaded nachos for your guests.

In a small place like Ampfield, events are typically in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes, long drives and gates are fine if we know about them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. You’ll know what’s included before you book: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

Why choose Mexican catering in Ampfield?

How we price Mexican catering

We will give you a clear quote. What affects it most:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • The number of people
  • What the venue already provides

Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Details that help

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • The date and time of the event
  • What power and water the site has
  • Your menu ideas
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground

Send us the date, your venue or SO51 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and you will get menu ideas and a price. To get started, send a quick message through our quote form.

How the day works

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. In Ampfield, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve

Planning help

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Put guests with severe allergies in touch with us early
  • Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Mention any other caterers or courses

Rain doesn’t stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Quesadillas are a good choice for children and cautious eaters, because they’re simple.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
