Mexican catering near Aperfield

Aperfield: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to Aperfield for guests?

The closest is Oxted station, roughly 4 miles away.

Where would you park in Aperfield?

London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. A parking suspension may be needed, and the whole of Greater London is inside the ULEZ.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote.

Do you cater in Aperfield?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Aperfield. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

How is the food prepared?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you serve in the rain?

Rain doesn’t stop service from the hatch. Plan a marquee, gazebo or indoor space for guests to eat in.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll suggest mild options.

Mexican catering in Aperfield, served fresh

With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: we park our food truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. No kitchen is needed on site. Popular choices include quesadillas, loaded nachos and fresh salsas and guacamole, and it’s a good fit for markets and community events and engagement celebrations.

Events in Aperfield are often in courtyards, office forecourts, hired venues and gardens with side access. If the garden is only reached through the house, a spot on the drive or the street may work, with permission. Send us a picture of the access. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so set-up goes smoothly.

Why book with us

  • Every guest catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included

The process

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we have agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. Winter evenings in Aperfield close in by about 3:55pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a suggested menu and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

What’s on the menu

Salsas and guacamole

Every taco needs salsa and guacamole.

Tacos

Tacos are the classic street food of Mexico. We serve them with salsas and toppings.

Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Guest numbers
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • What power and water the site has
  • The address or venue name
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Roughly how many adults and children

The quickest way to a quote is to use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

Planning for every diet

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests help themselves.

Add our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas, with licensing checked with you.

Space, access and the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • Room for a serving table for the taco bar
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first

As a London location, Aperfield is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.
