What we need at the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • Space for guests to queue
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

How our Mexican catering works in Batt's Corner

We slow-cook the fillings ahead and finish them on site, and the salsas and guacamole are freshly made. We warm the tortillas as each order goes out. It suits christenings and family parties and engagement and anniversary parties, with tacos, loaded nachos and fresh salsas and guacamole.

Somewhere as small as Batt's Corner, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, though guests need somewhere under cover to eat.

Burrito bowls are a good choice for anyone avoiding tortillas.

Batt's Corner: your questions answered

We’re having a ceremony at The Church Of The Good Shepherd: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

How far is Batt's Corner from London?

It is about 39 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

What does Mexican catering cost?

We quote for each event, so the price fits what you want. Tell us your date and numbers and we’ll reply with a quote.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we will confirm what’s included with your quote.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Batt's Corner.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests?

Yes. We plan vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. We give allergen information for every dish.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar.

How much space do you need?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s agreement. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

What’s on the menu

Salsas and guacamole

The salsas and guacamole finish every plate, and guests add as much as they like.

Loaded nachos

Crisp tortilla chips loaded with toppings, salsa and guacamole.

Organising for someone else?

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

A barbecue often means a host tied to the grill. Book us and the cooking happens in our truck or trailer. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

What you get with us

  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • Menus chosen with you
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • Quoted for your event

The process

Here’s how the day generally runs: we park up and get ready, we open the hatch when you’re ready, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. Planning an evening event in Batt's Corner? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. First, send us your date, venue, numbers and any diets we should know about.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. On the day we arrive, set up and serve hot food from our truck or trailer.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

Before we arrive

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Share the running order, including any speeches

How to get a price

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. Contact us for a quote: just drop us a line using the enquiry form.
