Mexican catering for Burdrop events

Should I do it myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

About our Mexican catering in Burdrop

We bring our food truck or trailer to events in and around Burdrop: gardens, fields, yards and venues with hardstanding. For garden parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food, we will put together a menu of a build-your-own taco bar, quesadillas and loaded nachos for your guests.

In a small place like Burdrop, events are normally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Burdrop: your questions answered

We are having a ceremony at Church of Holy Trinity: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Is Burdrop close to London?

About 70 miles from central London, and we cover it.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will suggest mild options.

How spicy is the food?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

How many guests can you serve?

Our truck and trailer service typically suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Do you come to Burdrop?

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we’ll tell you which dishes contain milk.

Planning a food truck in Burdrop

We cover events in every part of OX15 and the streets around it. Streets in the area include Hawk's Lane and Acre Ditch, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. How to compare caterers

How we price Mexican catering

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • The number of people
  • What the venue already provides

There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

What we need to know

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The date and rough timings

Most quotes start with a few simple details: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, send a quick message through our quote form.

Planners, venues and businesses

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Let us know how long the break is.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

What’s on the menu

Build-your-own taco bar

The taco bar keeps things sociable, and it makes mixed diets easy, with every dish labelled.

Tacos

Tacos are the classic street food of Mexico. They come with fresh salsas and toppings, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

Planning the serving area

Everything is served from our food truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • A route in that’s wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.

Popular choices

  • Burritos
  • Burrito bowls

How the day works

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. In Burdrop, the sun sets at about 9:30pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. On the day we arrive, set up and serve hot food from our truck or trailer.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.

How to prepare

Mexican catering or something else?

Sit-down meals need a kitchen, tables and more staff. A food truck or trailer is its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.
