Mexican catering in Cove

Taco catering in Cove: local tips

Cove is about 1 mile west of Farnborough, in Hampshire. From the centre of Cove to the outskirts, Mexican catering works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Cove is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire we cover. You can also see our page for Guildford, about 10 miles away.

For guests coming by train, the nearest station is Fleet station, about 1.7 miles west. Thinking of an event in Ancells Farm Park? Public parks typically need the landowner’s permission for a food truck, so check first.

How our Mexican catering works in Cove

Our truck or trailer travels to events across Cove and nearby: gardens, fields, yards and venues with hardstanding, as long as there’s safe access. It works well for wedding breakfasts and evening food and markets and community events, with burrito bowls, tacos and quesadillas.

For a place the size of Cove, your own garden or drive is often the best venue: no venue to hire and no cooking for you. Tell us about access down the lane or drive. You’ll know what’s included before you book: menu, timings and any add-ons.

Planning the serving area

Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • Hardstanding or firm, level ground to park on
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Step by step

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. In Cove, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

Planning help

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Guest numbers
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Whether you need disposables

Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Details that help

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • The address or venue name
  • The date and rough timings
  • Expected numbers
  • What you’d like on the menu

Getting a quote is simple: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send you a clear quote.

Planners, venues and businesses

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Cove? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Diets, allergies and planning

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Count children separately
  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Burrito bowls are a good choice for anyone avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.

Why choose Mexican catering in Cove?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, thanks to separate fillings and toppings. Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you can choose what you need.

Why book Mobile Mexican Catering in Cove

  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests
  • Access, space and power checked in advance

Questions from Cove

Is it possible to have you in Ancells Farm Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Is Cove close to London?

It’s about 33 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

What are your prices?

We don’t publish set prices, because every event is different. Send your details and you will get a quote for your event.

Is the food made fresh?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

What do you serve?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

What is mobile Mexican catering?

We bring our truck or trailer to your venue, cook to order and serve tacos, burritos and more from the hatch. A build-your-own taco bar is another option.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a photo of the access and the space, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
