About our Mexican catering in Crayford

Mixed diets are easy to plan with Mexican street food. There are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests, and allergen information is available for every dish. At fairs and festivals and family gatherings and christenings, we’ll put together a menu of burrito bowls, burritos and a build-your-own taco bar for your guests.

Around Crayford, events are often in gardens, fields, local halls or nearby venues. If access is tight or the ground is soft, we’ll plan around it. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Working with your venue

Throwing a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

How the day works

We work to your timings. If things run behind, tell us and we’ll adjust the start of service where we can. In Crayford, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. Once everyone has eaten, we tidy our serving area and head off.

Preparing for the day

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Getting a price

About the menu

Loaded nachos

Nachos are easy sharing food. Dairy-free versions can be planned.

Quesadillas

Toasted tortillas with melted cheese inside, cut into wedges.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Include at least one vegan filling

If timings change on the day, tell us and we’ll adjust.

Extra salsas and toppings can widen the choice.

Crayford questions

Could you serve in Braeburn Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Paulinus?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How many guests can you cater for?

That depends on the event. As a guide, it is around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we will take it from there.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, Kent included. See all areas.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we will tell you which dishes contain milk.

What’s on the menu?

We agree the menu with each client, with fillings such as chicken tinga, carnitas or black beans. The sample menu shows the options.

Can you serve drinks as well?

Yes. The drinks bar offers margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free drinks. We will talk licensing through with you.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

Space, access and the venue

We will be honest if a space won’t work, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:

  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • Space for guests to queue
  • Permission from the venue or landowner

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

Cold buffets are easy, but the food sits out. Our food is served hot, one order at a time. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Contact us for a quote to compare.
