Mexican catering in Forestside, served fresh

Mobile Mexican catering means the kitchen comes to you: we park our truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. You don’t need a kitchen at the venue. It suits school fairs and fundraisers and birthday parties, serving tacos, burritos and fresh salsas and guacamole.

Somewhere like Forestside, a field or garden is often the setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

What we need at the venue

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Catering an event in Forestside

Forestside is about 4 miles east of Horndean, in Hampshire. Give us the address of your event in Forestside, and we’ll plan access and set-up. Forestside is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire we cover. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Forestside to Southampton (21 miles away).

Before you pencil in Stansted Park, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement. Guests arriving by train will find that the nearest station is Rowlands Castle station, about 2.2 miles south-west. With the South Downs National Park about 5 miles away at most, a rural setting is never far from Forestside. Country lanes there can be narrow and verges soft, so tell us about the route in.

Wherever your event is in PO9, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests. We can cater an event on streets such as Lodge Lane and Forestside or the roads around them. We also serve at events in West Marden (1 mile north-east), Chalton (3 miles north-west), Blendworth (3 miles west), Buriton (5 miles north) and Nursted (5 miles north). Larger places within reach include Gosport (13 miles south-west), Havant (5 miles south-west), Fareham (13 miles west), Horndean (4 miles west), Waterlooville (6 miles west) and Petersfield (7 miles north).

Well-known places in the area include Clanfield Earthwork (4 miles north-west) and Havant War Memorial Hospital (5 miles south-west). Green spaces nearby include Compton Down and Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Planning for every diet

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains

Guests order at the hatch and we serve them there and then, so it is hot when it reaches them.

Quesadillas are a good choice for children and cautious eaters, because they’re simple.

Quesadillas are simple and comforting, and they go down well with children.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Timings and hours
  • Guest numbers
  • What the venue already provides

Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Details that help

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Your menu ideas
  • What power and water the site has
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The date and rough timings

Getting a quote is simple: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll come back with a clear quote.

Your questions about Mexican catering in Forestside

Could you serve our guests after a service at Christ Church?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Could you serve in Stansted Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Can you cater for special diets?

Yes. There are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. We give allergen information for every dish.

What food do you serve?

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. Take a look at the sample menu.

Can you serve in the rain?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

What if it rains?

We can still serve in the rain. Plan a marquee, gazebo or indoor space for guests to eat in.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

What happens on the day

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down. Planning an evening event in Forestside? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu, with fillings agreed with you, and a quote.
  3. Before the day, we agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve from the truck or trailer, or from a taco-bar station.
  5. After service, we clear away and leave the spot tidy.
