Mexican catering near Great Horwood

How our Mexican catering works in Great Horwood

A build-your-own taco bar is one of the most sociable ways to feed a crowd. Guests fill their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, so nobody ends up with something they do not want. For garden get-togethers and milestone birthdays, we can serve tacos, burrito bowls and quesadillas.

In a small place like Great Horwood, events are usually in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

How we price Mexican catering

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • The number of people
  • What the venue already provides
  • What’s on the menu

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

What we need to know

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Expected numbers
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. Contact us for a quote: just send us your details through our quote form.

Great Horwood: your questions answered

Do you cater in villages like Great Horwood?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Is Great Horwood close to London?

It’s about 47 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

When do you arrive?

We get there well before service to set up. Serving times are agreed with you in advance, along with pack-down.

What about power on site?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

What do you need at the venue?

Access and level ground matter most: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a picture and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will plan the menu with them in mind.

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. In Great Horwood, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. On the day we arrive, set up and serve hot food from our truck or trailer.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Our caterer checklist

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Count children separately
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests build their own.

Quesadillas go down well with children, because they’re simple.

Planning the serving area

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and help find another spot. The main points are:

  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • Agreement from the venue to bring a food truck or trailer on site
  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.
