About our Mexican catering in Great Kimble
Every menu is agreed with you, so fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. It works well for weddings and evening receptions and garden get-togethers, with loaded nachos, a build-your-own taco bar and quesadillas.
Somewhere as small as Great Kimble, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we will plan for them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. We plan the timings around your day, so service starts when you want it.

How it compares
A plated meal needs a kitchen and a larger team. Our food truck or trailer brings its own kitchen, and needs a suitable spot, safe access and the venue’s agreement. What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

DIY taco night or a caterer?
For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.
Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.
How we price Mexican catering
Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:
- Food, drinks or both
- Staff for serving and the bar
- The length of service
- Guest numbers
Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.
What to tell us
You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:
- A picture of where we’d park
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
- Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will make suggestions. To start, drop us a line using the enquiry form.
Where the truck can go in Great Kimble
Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours when you contact us. In general, we need:
- Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
- Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
- A spot for a taco-bar serving table
If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Planners, venues and businesses
Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will let you know if it’s a good fit.
If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.
Dietary needs and planning tips
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:
- Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
- Tell us how many children are coming
- Confirm allergies by email before the event
- Tell us what other food is being served
Allergen information is on hand for every dish, and guests are welcome to ask before ordering.
Quesadillas go down well with children, because they’re simple.

FAQs for Great Kimble
Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Nicholas?
Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.
Do you come to events in the Chilterns National Landscape?
We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.
What are your prices?
Every event is quoted for individually, depending on numbers, menu, venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.
Do you clear up afterwards?
We clear our own area when service is finished. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.
Do you cater for coeliacs?
We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.
How many guests can you cater for?
That depends on the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, but tell us your numbers and we will take it from there.
Can you run a bar?
Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we’ll check the licensing with you.
What’s on the menu?
We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.
Step by step
When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. Around midsummer it stays light in Great Kimble until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.
- You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
- We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
- We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
- We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
- When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.
How to prepare
- Name one person we can ask on the day
- Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
- Confirm numbers and diets before the day
