Mexican catering in Hawley, served fresh

With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: our truck or trailer parks at your venue and we serve hot food straight from the hatch. You don’t need a kitchen at the venue. It works well for anniversaries and engagements and big birthday celebrations, with burritos, quesadillas and fresh salsas and guacamole.

Somewhere like Hawley, a field or garden is often the setting. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

Hawley: your questions answered

Is Hawley close to London?

About 15 miles from central London, and we cover it.

Is it possible to have you in Darenth Country Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.

Do you cook on site?

Food is cooked to order in our truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Do you take everything away?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we’ll talk it through.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Do you do a drinks bar?

Yes. The drinks bar offers margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free drinks. Licensing is checked with you first.

How long do you serve for?

We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

Can you cater in a back garden?

Yes, as long as there is access and a level, firm spot. Send us a photo of the access and the space.

Before you choose a spot

We’ll be honest if a space will not work, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Questions to ask before booking

Dietary needs and planning tips

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Send allergy details to us in writing

We work around your timings, and adapt if they move.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or serving staff and we’ll set out what we can do in your quote.

How we price Mexican catering

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • The length of service
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Guest numbers
  • Serving staff

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

Details that help

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The date and rough timings
  • Where the event is

Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. A December event in Hawley will be in the dark from about 3:50pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. Expect a suggested menu and a quote.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and arrangements.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

Preparing for the day

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
