What we need at the venue

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:

  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • Room for a serving table for the taco bar

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

About the menu

Salsas and guacamole

Guacamole and salsas, freshly made.

Burritos and burrito bowls

Rice, beans, a filling and toppings rolled in a large tortilla, or the same served in a bowl.

Comparing your options

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, thanks to separate fillings and toppings. Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you can choose what you need.

What you get with us

  • Menus chosen with you
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer
  • Quoted for your event
  • We cover High Halden and the whole of Kent

See our prices page or the cost guide.

Working with your venue

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will let you know if it’s a good fit.

What Mexican catering costs

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The venue or postcode
  • What power and water the site has
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll make suggestions. When you’re ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

High Halden questions

Do you come to events in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

Will you travel to a small place like High Halden?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

How many guests can you cater for?

Our service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case.

What space do you need?

We need level, firm ground or hardstanding, access wide and high enough to drive in, and the venue’s permission. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

Do you cook on site?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

What can we choose from?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. Our sample menu has more detail.

How the day works

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. A photo of the space helps. Evenings in High Halden stay light until about 9:15pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:00pm. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. When you are done, we pack away.

How to prepare

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.
