Mexican catering in Kensal Rise, from our truck or trailer

Mobile Mexican catering means the kitchen comes to you: our truck or trailer parks at your venue and we serve hot food straight from the hatch. No kitchen is needed on site. We serve tacos, burrito bowls and a build-your-own taco bar, which works well for big birthday celebrations and garden parties.

In Kensal Rise, events range from courtyards to hired halls. Let us know where the truck or trailer can stop, and about any height barriers or narrow entrances. We’ll check the space, access and power with you before the day, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Planning for every diet

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Tell us how many children are coming

We have allergen information for every dish at the hatch, so guests can check before they order.

Add our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas, with licensing checked with you.

Before you choose a spot

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • Room for a serving table for the taco bar
  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch

In Kensal Rise, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Common questions in Kensal Rise

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St John the Evangelist?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Where would you park in Kensal Rise?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

How spicy is the food?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Do you serve in the rain?

Rain doesn’t stop service from the hatch. Plan a marquee, gazebo or indoor space for guests to eat in.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on the event. As a guide, it’s around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we’ll plan around them.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Let us know your numbers and space and we will recommend how to serve.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

How it works

We get there well before you want to serve, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Planning an evening event in Kensal Rise? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September. Festoon lights or floodlights help once it gets dark.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.

Preparing for the day

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time

Planning help

Perfect for your event in Kensal Rise

You don’t need a kitchen, so gardens, fields and outdoor venues are all possible.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Christenings and family parties
  • Leaving dos and retirement parties
  • Fundraisers and school events
  • Big birthday celebrations

Before you pencil in Queen’s Park, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Plates and napkins, or nothing at all
  • Whether travel is included
  • What the price includes, item by item
  • The deposit and payment dates

Questions to ask before you book

For event organisers in Kensal Rise

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

What affects the price in Kensal Rise

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Timings and hours
  • How many staff you need
  • What’s on the menu
  • Distance and access to the venue

There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Expected numbers
  • The date and rough timings
  • Where the event is

The quickest way to a quote is to send us your details through our quote form. Tell us about your event in Kensal Rise, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
