Working with your venue

Mexican catering in Kiln Green, served fresh

Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so tell us your numbers. At birthday parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food, we’ll put together a menu of tacos, burritos and quesadillas for your guests.

Somewhere as small as Kiln Green, a garden or field is often the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives and we’ll plan for them, and firm ground matters, especially after rain. We’ll check the space, access and power with you before the day, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Mexican catering or something else?

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

Why us?

  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Catering across Wokingham, including Kiln Green

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

What we need at the venue

Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. Here’s what we look for:

  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer
  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

Popular choices

  • Burrito bowls
  • Loaded nachos
  • Build-your-own taco bar
  • Burritos
  • Quesadillas

How it works

Once service is over, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Around midsummer it stays light in Kiln Green until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu around your guests and quote for it.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Ask the venue about power and water

Planning help

Kiln Green: your questions answered

Which station is closest to Kiln Green?

Wargrave station, about 2 miles west of the centre.

How far is Kiln Green from central London?

Roughly 32 miles from the centre of London.

How much space do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, and the venue’s agreement. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

How much is a food truck for an event?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the length of service and the location. Contact us for a quote.

Can you cater for special diets?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, though we can’t guarantee a kitchen with no trace of any allergen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us first.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, we can. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we will include them in the plan.

Do you need electricity?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

Do you give allergen information?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Popular choices

Salsas and guacamole

The salsas and guacamole finish every plate, and guests add as much as they like.

Burritos and burrito bowls

Rice, beans, a filling and toppings rolled in a large tortilla, or served as a bowl instead.

Diets, allergies and planning

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Burrito bowls are a good choice for anyone avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.

How we price Mexican catering

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • The length of service
  • Distance and access to the venue

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The address or venue name

Most quotes start with a few simple details: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, tell us about it on our contact page.
