Choosing a Mexican caterer

Mexican catering in Lavendon, served fresh

Serving from a truck or trailer keeps the mood easy-going. Guests come up to the hatch, chat while they wait and take something hot back to their seats, which suits informal events. At staff parties and office lunches and school fairs and fundraisers, we can serve quesadillas, burritos and loaded nachos and more.

In a hamlet or village like Lavendon, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a good venue. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. We plan the timings around your day, so service starts when you want it.

Step by step

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. Around midsummer it stays light in Lavendon until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we’ll park.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Lavendon: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Michael?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Will you travel to a small place like Lavendon?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Where do you cater?

We cater across London and the South East, Milton Keynes included. Find your area.

Do you do parties at home?

That depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

Do you serve in the rain?

We can still serve in the rain. Have somewhere covered ready for guests.

How many guests can you serve?

Our truck and trailer service usually suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we will advise.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. We offer dairy-free options.

Who clears up?

We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

Platters dropped off in the morning are easy but forgettable. Hot food served from a truck feels like part of the event. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Planning the serving area

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

How we price Mexican catering

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Guest numbers
  • The menu you choose
  • What the venue already provides

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.

What we need to know

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Your date and when you want service to start

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we are available that day.

For planners, venues and organisers

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Lavendon? A truck or trailer serves a crowd quickly, with options for most diets. Give us the details and we will suggest a plan.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Should I do it myself?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
