Mexican catering in Monkhams

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Mexican catering in Monkhams, served fresh

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. Popular choices include fresh salsas and guacamole, tacos and a build-your-own taco bar, and it suits weddings and evening receptions and retirement and leaving parties.

Events in Monkhams are often in courtyards, office forecourts, hired venues and gardens with side access. London gardens are often reached only through the house, so the truck or trailer may need to stay on a drive or the street, with permission. Tell us about the route in. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Working with your venue

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Monkhams? A truck or trailer serves a crowd quickly, with options for most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

FAQs for Monkhams

Could you serve our guests after a service at All Saints' Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to The Highams Park?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates go first, so get in touch early.

What food do you serve?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. We’ll check the licensing for alcohol with you.

How does your Mexican catering work?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests help themselves while we keep it topped up.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar.

Space, access and the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • Permission from the venue or landowner

As a London location, Monkhams is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Step by step

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can enjoy your event. In Monkhams, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. You tell us the date, the venue, rough guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. We check access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
