Space, access and the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
  • Some distance from houses and neighbours

In Norbury, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we offer

  • Burritos
  • Build-your-own taco bar

About our Mexican catering in Norbury

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, and vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. It works well for engagement and anniversary parties and milestone birthdays, with quesadillas, burrito bowls and burritos.

In Norbury, events range from courtyards to hired halls. Tell us how close we can park and about any narrow entrances. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

How the day works

When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. Planning an evening event in Norbury? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September. Festoon lights or floodlights help once it gets dark.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we’ll park.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

Planning help

Planning for every diet

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Tell us about coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Mention any other caterers or courses

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests build their own while we keep it topped up.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

Comparing your options

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Why us?

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • A menu agreed with you
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer

FAQs for Norbury

Is parking a problem for events in Norbury?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Oswald?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Do you cater in Norbury?

Yes, we do. Norbury is one of the places we cover. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.

How does mobile Mexican catering work?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up, serve your guests and clear away when service ends.

Can you cater for special diets?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, but we cannot promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

Do you need power and water?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

How spicy is the food?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Should I do it myself?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.
