Choosing a Mexican caterer

Mexican catering for your event in North Looe

A build-your-own taco bar is one of the most sociable ways to feed a crowd. Guests fill their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, so nobody ends up with something they do not want. For fairs and festivals and weddings and evening receptions, we can serve fresh salsas and guacamole, tacos and burrito bowls.

In a rural place like North Looe, access is the main thing to plan: the gate, the ground and the route from the lane. We confirm power and water arrangements with you before the day. You can book food, drinks or both, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Comparing your options

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

What you get with us

  • Every guest catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included
  • Allergen-aware menus
  • Menus chosen with you
  • Fast service, even with a queue

What happens on the day

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can enjoy your event. In North Looe, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we’ll park.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Planners, venues and businesses

Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Planning for every diet

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event

If timings change on the day, tell us and we’ll adjust.

Burrito bowls are a good choice for anyone avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.

Street tacos are small, quick and full of flavour. We serve them with salsas and toppings.

Burritos and burrito bowls

A burrito is a meal in one. Bowls suit guests who want to skip the tortilla.

Questions from North Looe

Do you come to events in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Is it possible to have you in Priest Hill?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

How many guests can you serve?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

What access do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a photo of the space and the way in.

Can we add a bar?

We can. The drinks bar offers margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free drinks. We will go through the licensing with you.

Do you cater for big events?

That depends on the event. As a guide, it’s around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we will plan around them.

Do you do parties at home?

Yes, as long as there’s access and a level, firm spot. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes.

How we price Mexican catering

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • What’s on the menu
  • Parking and the route in
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Where the event is
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • The date and rough timings

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, along with any dietary needs, and you’ll get menu ideas and a price. To get started, use our quote form.
