How our Mexican catering works in Ruxley

Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so let us know how many you expect. It suits retirement and leaving parties and garden get-togethers, with quesadillas, tacos and a build-your-own taco bar.

In a London neighbourhood like Ruxley, the first thing to plan for a food truck is parking and loading. Narrow streets and permit bays decide where we can stop, so let us know about off-street space, or whether the council will need to suspend a parking bay. All of Greater London, Ruxley included, is inside the ULEZ. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Include at least one vegan filling
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP

Food is served from the hatch, order by order, so everything goes out hot.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar, with licensing checked with you.

Planning a food truck in Ruxley

We cater in 764 places in Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. You can also see our page for London, about 11 miles away.

Before you pencil in Foots Cray Meadows, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement. Ruxley is within about 7 miles of the Kent Downs National Landscape, with country venues and gardens that can suit a food truck. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules about vehicles and catering, so check with yours.

FAQs for Ruxley

We are having a ceremony at St Botolph's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Which station should guests use for Ruxley?

The closest is Albany Park station, roughly 1.5 miles away.

How is the food prepared?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you need power and water?

That depends on the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we’ll park.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we will talk licensing through with you and your venue.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

Can you cater in a back garden?

Yes, as long as there is access and a level, firm spot. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes.

Who clears up?

We pack down and leave our area tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we will talk it through.

Step by step

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. Daylight in Ruxley runs to about 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September. Let us know if service will run after dark, and we will talk about lighting.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Should I do it myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

How we price Mexican catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • How many staff you need
  • What’s on the menu
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Whether you need disposables

What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Details that help

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The date and time of the event
  • The address or venue name
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, menu ideas and access. To send your details, tell us about it on our contact page.
