Mexican catering in Sittingbourne, served fresh

We slow-cook the fillings ahead and finish them on site, and the salsas and guacamole are freshly made. Tortillas are warmed as we serve. At festivals, fairs and markets and leaving dos and retirement parties, we’ll put together a menu of a build-your-own taco bar, tacos and fresh salsas and guacamole.

Gardens in Sittingbourne range from small patios to big lawns, and the key question is whether the truck or trailer can reach them. A drive, a side gate or a car park next door can all help. You can book food, drinks or both, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

What happens on the day

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we’ll help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain does not usually stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. Around midsummer it stays light in Sittingbourne until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready

Catering an event in Sittingbourne

Sittingbourne is about 37 miles east of London, in Kent. Tell us where your event in Sittingbourne will be, and we will plan the journey and set-up before the day. We cater in all 922 towns and villages across Kent, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 16 miles away.

By road, Sittingbourne is on or near the A2 and A249, which makes it easy for us to reach with the truck or trailer. Thinking of an event in Milton Creek Country Park? Public parks typically need the landowner’s permission for a food truck, so check first. With the Kent Downs National Landscape about 7 miles away at most, a rural setting is never far from Sittingbourne. Country lanes there can be narrow and verges soft, so tell us about the route in.

We serve at events all over the ME10 and ME9 postcode area. Whether your event is on High Street, Roman Square and Moonstone Square or anywhere nearby, we can bring Mexican catering there, given access. Main roads around Sittingbourne include the A2 and A249, so getting the truck or trailer to your event is simple. Nearby, we also cater events in Murston (1 mile east), Milton Regis (1 mile north-east), Kemsley (1 mile north), Howt Green (1 mile north-west) and Heart's Delight (1 mile south-west). Larger places within reach include Maidstone (10 miles south-west), Ashford (15 miles south), Whitstable (13 miles east), Faversham (7 miles east), Minster (6 miles north-east) and Kings Hill (15 miles west). Being one of Kent’s larger places, Sittingbourne has plenty of venues and spaces for events.

A little further out are Court Hall Museum (within half a mile north) and Bayford Court (less than half a mile east).

  • Schools near Sittingbourne include Milton Court Primary Academy (0.5 miles north)
  • Local pubs include The Golden Hope pub (under half a mile south-west)

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • Food, drinks or both
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Distance and access to the venue

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

What to tell us

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Your menu ideas
  • Where the event is
  • The date and time of the event
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Send allergy details to us in writing
  • Add a dietary question to your RSVP
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Let us know about any other food at the event

Once everyone has eaten, we tidy up and pack away.

Burrito bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla, and they’re easy to adapt for different diets.

Organising for someone else?

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Sittingbourne: your questions answered

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of the Holy Trinity?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Milton Creek Country Park?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms, served alongside the meat options.

Can you keep it mild?

That’s your choice: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.

What do you need at the venue?

Send us details of the venue and the access, and we will confirm what we need. Space for a queue and, if you choose one, a taco-bar table helps too.

Do you come to Sittingbourne?

Yes, we do. We serve at events in Sittingbourne and across Kent. Send us your date to check availability.

How many guests can you cater for?

That depends on the event. As a guide, it is around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we will take it from there.

Can you serve drinks as well?

Our drinks bar can be added to any booking, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. We will go through the licensing with you before the day.

Should I do it myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

With a barbecue, someone usually ends up stuck at the grill. Book us and the cooking happens in our food truck or trailer. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Why us?
