About our Mexican catering in Sole Street

You can keep the menu short or make it a feast: tacos on their own, or tacos with burritos, nachos and quesadillas. Our Mexican drinks bar can be added too, with licensing checked with you. On the menu are a build-your-own taco bar, burritos and tacos, which works well for birthday parties and anniversaries and engagements.

Somewhere like Sole Street, a field or garden is often the setting. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Occasions we cater for in Sole Street

People like choosing their own toppings, and the taco bar gets them talking while they queue.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Big birthday celebrations
  • Garden get-togethers
  • Weddings and evening receptions
  • Leaving dos and retirement parties

Guests leaving a church like St Mary's Room after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready.

Our caterer checklist

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

Burgers and pizza are what guests often expect. Tacos, burritos and nachos feel a little different, while still being easy food most people enjoy. Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

What we offer in Sole Street

  • A plan agreed before the day
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • A menu agreed with you
  • Allergen-aware menus

Read our pricing or our guide to catering costs.

Should I do it myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Questions from Sole Street

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Camer Park Country Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Mary's Room?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cater for children?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Do you do a drinks bar?

Our drinks bar can be added to any booking, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. We will talk licensing through with you before the day.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

How does mobile Mexican catering work?

Our food truck or trailer is a mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

What does Mexican catering cost?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Send us the details for a quote.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to talk to us before the event
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain
  • Mention any other caterers or courses

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests help themselves.

Burrito bowls suit guests who’d rather skip the tortilla.

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • How many staff you need
  • What the venue already provides
  • Guest numbers

Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • Your menu ideas
  • The date and time of the event

Send us the date, your venue or DA13 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and you’ll get menu ideas and a price. Just tell us about it on our contact page.

Planning the serving area

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours
  • Agreement from the venue to bring a food truck or trailer on site

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.
