Questions to ask before booking

Mexican catering in Tandridge, served fresh

A build-your-own taco bar is one of the most sociable ways to feed a crowd. Guests fill their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, so nobody ends up with something they do not want. It suits family gatherings and christenings and anniversaries and engagements, serving burritos, burrito bowls and quesadillas.

Somewhere like Tandridge, a field or garden is often the setting. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

What Mexican catering costs

We will give you a clear quote. What affects it most:

  • Timings and hours
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • The menu you choose
  • How many guests we are serving

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What to tell us

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • The date and time of the event
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you need. For a quote, tell us about it on our contact page.

Step by step

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain doesn’t typically stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. Around midsummer it stays light in Tandridge until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we will park.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Tandridge questions

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Peter: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

What’s the nearest station to Tandridge for guests?

Godstone station, about 1.6 miles south-west of the centre.

How much does Mexican catering cost in Tandridge?

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you want. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

What is mobile Mexican catering?

Our truck or trailer is a mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

How is the food prepared?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

What do you need at the venue?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a picture and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

A cold buffet is simple but tends to sit out for hours. Tacos and burritos are made to order and served hot. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

Should I do it myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.
