Mexican catering in The Sands, from our food truck or trailer
You can keep the menu short or make it a feast: a taco menu, or tacos plus loaded nachos, quesadillas and burrito bowls. Our Mexican drinks bar can be added too. For family celebrations and office lunches and team days, we will put together a menu of tacos, quesadillas and burrito bowls and more.
Somewhere like The Sands, a field or garden is often the setting. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.
Can I do a taco night myself?
A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.
Why choose Mexican catering in The Sands?
It is colourful, generous food that suits a relaxed event.
A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:
- Family celebrations
- Garden parties
- Engagement and anniversary parties
- Retirement and leaving parties
If you are organising a summer fair for a school like South Farnham School, a taco truck can be a crowd-pleaser.
Before booking anyone
- A clear list of what’s included
- The caterer’s food hygiene rating
- Staff numbers and hours
- What the caterer needs from your venue

Your questions about Mexican catering in The Sands
Could you serve in Crooksbury Hill?
It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.
Do you come to events in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?
We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.
Do you provide plates and napkins?
Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.
Do you have dairy-free options?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we’ll plan the menu around them.
Can you keep it mild?
It’s up to you: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.
Which areas do you serve?
London and South East England: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including The Sands.
Can you plan for allergies?
Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.
Do you cater for coeliacs?
Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?
Is Mexican catering right for your event?
Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, Mexican street food is easier for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, because fillings and toppings are kept separate. Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

Working with your venue
If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Before you choose a spot
Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:
- A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
- Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
- A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Step by step
We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Around midsummer it stays light in The Sands until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.
- First, send us a few details about your event.
- You get a sample menu and a quote.
- Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
- We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
- Once service ends, we clear away.
