How it compares

A plated meal needs a kitchen and a larger team. Our food truck or trailer brings its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Mexican catering in Well, served fresh

Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, alongside vegan choices such as black beans or spiced mushrooms. It suits family celebrations and birthday parties, with burrito bowls, burritos and a build-your-own taco bar.

Somewhere like Well, a field or garden is often the setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

What affects the price in Well

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • The number of people
  • How many staff you need

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Well: your questions answered

Which station is closest to Well?

Guests can use Bentley (Hampshire) station, about 2.9 miles south-east of Well.

Is Well close to London?

It is about 40 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

It depends on the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, but tell us your numbers and we’ll take it from there.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

Can you cater for special diets?

We plan carefully for diets and keep options separate, but we cannot promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Can you set up at our venue?

Tell us about the venue and the way in, and we’ll confirm what we need. We also need room for a queue.

The process

Here’s how the day generally runs: we park up and get ready, we open the hatch when you are ready, and your guests are served fresh until service ends. Around midsummer it stays light in Well until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 4:00pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Preparing for the day

  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
