Organising for someone else?

Organising a club, school or community event in Cote? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • How many staff you need
  • The number of people
  • The menu you choose

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and time of the event
  • The venue or postcode

Still deciding on the menu? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. When you’re ready, use our quote form.

Drinks planning tips

Some planning tips for the drinks:

  • Serve food alongside the drinks
  • Collect allergy details in advance
  • Tell us when the bar should open and close
  • Ask your venue about its licence early

Allergen information is available for every drink.

Alcohol-free aguas frescas for all ages.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

The process

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. In December, the light goes in Cote at about 4:00pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. At midsummer, by contrast, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. We talk through licensing with you, whether that is the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. We put together a drinks menu, with alcohol-free choices, and quote for it.
  4. On the day we set up the bar and our bar staff serve your guests.
  5. When the bar closes, we pack down and clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Common questions in Cote

Do you cater in the South Downs National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

Do you cater in villages like Cote?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Do you have options for kids?

Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Do you have a licence to sell alcohol?

You’ll need either the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice. We go through the licensing with you before the day. See GOV.UK for Temporary Event Notices.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

What drinks do you serve?

Margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. The drinks list is agreed with you.

Do you serve responsibly?

Always. Under-18s aren’t served alcohol, and we may refuse service to anyone who has had too much.

Is the food very hot?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.
