Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Serving staff
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • The address or venue name
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Your date and when you want service to start

We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, tell us about it on our contact page.

Drinks receptions around Frant

Frant is about 3 miles south of Royal Tunbridge Wells, in Kent. We serve at events in homes, gardens and venues in Frant and nearby villages. We serve in 922 places across Kent, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. We cater right across the region, from Frant to Brighton (25 miles away).

For a drinks-led event, rail details help, and the nearest station is Frant station, about 1.2 miles north-east. Serving alcohol in Eridge Park would need the owner’s permission and probably a licence, so a garden or venue is often simpler. Frant is within about 4 miles of the High Weald National Landscape, a lovely setting for drinks outdoors. Ask your venue about vehicle access for the truck or trailer.

Anywhere in TN3, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Streets in the area include High Street, The Green and Warren Ridge, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Other places close to Frant for Mexican bar hire include The Platt (1 mile south), Eridge Green (2 miles west), Mark Cross (2 miles south), Town Row (4 miles south-west) and Tidebrook (4 miles south). Within a short drive, we also cover Sevenoaks (13 miles north), Royal Tunbridge Wells (3 miles north), Tonbridge (7 miles north), Kings Hill (14 miles north-east), Paddock Wood (8 miles north-east) and Southborough (4 miles north).

Nearby you’ll also find The Corn Exchange (2.1 miles north) and The Amelia (2.6 miles north). The countryside around Frant includes Broadwater Warren RSPB Reserve.

Before you choose a spot

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • Space for guests to queue at the bar
  • Licensing checked with you before the day
  • A bar spot away from homes

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Frant: your questions answered

Do you come to events in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

Could you serve our guests after a service at The Parish Church of St Alban?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms, served alongside the meat options.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

Do you bring staff to serve the drinks?

Our bar staff run the bar. They serve responsibly.

Can guests build their own tacos?

We can. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. We offer dairy-free options.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, planned around your event. Evening drinks in Frant stay light until about 8:50pm in late May and 9:15pm in late June, so a summer drinks bar can run into the evening in daylight. For a bar running past dusk, ask the venue about outdoor lighting.

  1. First, we check your date.
  2. We suggest margaritas, beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free choices.
  3. We agree where the bar goes.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. We tidy up at the end.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

Planning help

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Planning the bar

To get the most from the bar, it helps to:

  • Give the council notice in good time for a Temporary Event Notice
  • Plan transport home for guests
  • Ensure drivers have good choices
  • Serve food alongside the drinks

We set up the bar before guests arrive.

More bar staff for larger crowds.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event

  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
