How our Mexican bar hire works in Stansted

Aguas frescas are Mexico’s fresh fruit and flower drinks: agua de jamaica made with hibiscus, horchata, tamarind and fruit waters. They’re alcohol-free, so every guest can enjoy them. It works well for wedding drinks receptions and licensed festivals, serving alcohol-free drinks, Mexican beer and margaritas.

Planning the serving area

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • A premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice in place
  • Details of power and water on site
  • Somewhere to park and unload nearby

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Comparing your options

Running your own bar means checking licensing, stock and staff yourself. We’ll check the licensing with you and bring bar staff. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Why book with us

  • A plan agreed before the day
  • Every guest catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included
  • Events in Stansted and across Kent
  • A menu agreed with you

Read how we price and our guide to catering costs.

What happens on the day

When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. In December, the light goes in Stansted at about 3:50pm, so plan where guests will gather, and how it will be lit. At midsummer, by contrast, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. First, we check your date.
  2. We suggest margaritas, beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free choices.
  3. We agree where the bar goes.
  4. We set up and serve on cue.
  5. When the bar shuts, we clear away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

How to compare caterers

How we price Mexican bar hire

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Parking and the route in
  • Serving staff

Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

What to tell us

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • What power and water the site has
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Where the event is
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Questions from Stansted

Do you come out to small places like Stansted?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Which station is closest to Stansted?

Borough Green & Wrotham station, about 2.9 miles south of the centre.

Do you have dairy-free options?

We can. We offer dairy-free options.

How much is the bar?

Every bar is quoted for individually, based on numbers, drinks and hours. Contact us for a quote.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Read our taco bar guide.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t generally stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.
