Mexican party catering in Shacklewell

How our Mexican party catering works in Shacklewell

Mixed ages and mixed diets are easy. Quesadillas suit children, and we plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options. On the menu are guacamole and salsas, a build-your-own taco bar and tacos, and it’s a good fit for graduation celebrations and birthday parties.

In Shacklewell, a back-garden party is the usual choice, but access can be tight. We can look at parking on a drive or out front, with permission. Parking needs planning, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Mexican party catering or something else?

Unlike a barbecue, there’s no waiting for the next batch, and nobody is stuck at the grill. Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Shacklewell questions

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Stoke Newington Common?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Barnabas: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you cater in Shacklewell?

We do. Shacklewell is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

How much is a food truck for an event?

We quote for each event, so the price fits what you want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a quote.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes, we can. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we’ll include them in the plan.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

How much space do you need?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, plus the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

What happens on the day

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down. At midsummer, it’s light in Shacklewell until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. Send us your date, where the party is, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a menu and send a quote.
  3. Before the day, we check the space, the way in, power and water.
  4. On the day we set up and serve hot food at the time you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Preparing for the day

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Dietary needs and planning tips

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Have bins ready
  • Plan a covered spot for wet weather
  • Warn the neighbours about the truck
  • Plan a vegan filling alongside the others

When you are ready to eat, we start serving, while you enjoy your guests.

Margaritas and Mexican beer from our drinks bar.

Planning the serving area

If a space is not suitable, we will tell you. What matters most:

  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first

Shacklewell is in London, inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all of Greater London, and parking can be tight: let us know about permits, bays, off-street space or a parking suspension.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.
