For a village fête or field event near Budds, a truck or trailer brings hot food to a rural site. Tell us about the ground, the gate and access. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our food truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Our caterer checklist

Should I do it myself?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

How it works

We get there well before you want to serve, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. Summer events in Budds have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. It starts with your event details and pitch information.
  2. You get our stall menu, what we need at the pitch and the paperwork you request.
  3. We arrive at the agreed time and set up on our pitch.
  4. Tacos, burritos and more are served to order while the event is open.
  5. When trading ends, we pack down and leave the pitch clean.

Getting ready for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Provide seating near the food
  • Put all trader information in one pack
  • Ask for allergen information at each stall
  • Share vehicle access times with traders

At the end, we clear the pitch and leave it clean.

Bowls as a gluten-free choice.

What Mexican street food costs

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • What the venue already provides
  • Timings and hours
  • Serving staff
  • Your choice of food and drinks

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

What to tell us

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Expected numbers
  • Your date and when you want service to start

It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Before you choose a spot

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:

  • Clear information on power, water and waste
  • A pitch big enough for the truck or trailer and a queue
  • Flat, firm ground

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.
