Mexican street food for Castle Hill events

Mexican street food in Castle Hill, from our food truck or trailer

We trade at festivals, fairs, markets, school fairs and community events in and around Castle Hill. On the menu are burritos, loaded nachos and burrito bowls, which works well for open-air performances and food markets.

Near Castle Hill, events may be far from shops and cafés, so a hot-food truck is a big help. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Working with your venue

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

How the day works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we’ll help you choose a spot with room for a queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered. Evening events in Castle Hill have light until about 9:15pm at midsummer; after that, the trading area needs lighting from the organiser or the site.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. We reply with our stall menu and what we need on site.
  3. We confirm power, water and access arrangements.
  4. We plan to be ready for the lunchtime rush.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

Preparing for the day

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • The number of people
  • How many staff you need
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Parking and the route in

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

Getting an accurate quote

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • What you’d like on the menu

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send you a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Your questions about Mexican street food in Castle Hill

Do you come to school fairs around Castle Hill?

We can, as long as the school agrees and the truck or trailer can reach the pitch. Tell us the date, the site and roughly how many visitors you expect.

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the High Weald National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, as long as there’s access and a level, firm spot. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.

Do you need electricity?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there’s a supply near where we will park.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Will you have a stall at our event?

Send us the details, and we will reply with our availability and what we need.

What documents can you send?

Send us your list.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Dietary needs and planning tips

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Provide seating near the food
  • Ask traders about packaging and waste
  • Feed crew and volunteers at set times
  • Check how traders handle peak times

Our pitch is kept tidy.

Occasions we cater for in Castle Hill

Organisers book Mexican street food because it draws people into the food area and serves them quickly.

We can help if you’re planning any of the following:

  • School and charity events
  • Community events and open days
  • Hospitality and crew areas
  • Street food and farmers’ markets

A fundraiser for a church like Parish Church of All Saints might use a food truck to give visitors a reason to stay longer.

Before you book anyone

  • The deadline for final numbers
  • Whether VAT is included
  • How many staff are serving, and for how long
  • What the caterer needs from your venue

Questions to ask before you book

Comparing your options

Crew sandwiches are easy but dull. A hot meal keeps crew happy. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.
