How it compares
For crew catering, sandwiches are easy but uninspiring. A hot meal keeps crew happy. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Fairs, fêtes and events in Catslip
Catslip is about 7 miles north of Caversham, in Oxfordshire. Whether your event is in the middle of Catslip or on the outskirts, Mexican street food works the same way: fresh service from our truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. Catslip is one of 443 towns and villages in Oxfordshire where we can bring Mexican street food. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Catslip to Reading (about 9 miles away).
Hot food from a truck or trailer could give a school fair, for a school such as Nettlebed Community School, a busy corner. For a public event, it helps to tell people that the nearest station is Henley-On-Thames station, about 4.4 miles south-east. Organisers near the Chilterns National Landscape, within about 5 miles of Catslip, may face extra conditions on traffic, ground protection and waste. We work to whatever the site sets.
This part of Oxfordshire takes in RG9. Nearby, we also cater events in Nettlebed (1 mile north-west), Highmoor (1 mile south-west), Highmoor Cross (1 mile south), Bix (2 miles south-east) and Middle Assendon (2 miles east). Larger places within reach include Didcot (12 miles west), Abingdon-on-Thames (15 miles north-west), Thame (12 miles north), Henley-on-Thames (4 miles south-east), Benson (6 miles north-west) and Chinnor (9 miles north).

Organising for someone else?
Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.
If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.
Prices and what affects them
Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:
- Serving staff
- How many guests we’re serving
- Distance and access to the venue
- What the venue already provides
What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. We will suggest options to suit your budget.
What to tell us
You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:
- Your menu ideas
- The venue or postcode
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Expected numbers
It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send you a clear quote and a suggested menu.
Before you choose a spot
Every venue is different, so we ask about the space before we confirm. In general, we need:
- A pitch with space around it, away from tents and structures
- Flat, firm ground
- A pitch big enough for the truck or trailer and a queue
If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.
DIY taco night or a caterer?
Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.
A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.
Catslip: your questions answered
Is Catslip close to London?
Roughly 38 miles from the centre of London.
Will you travel to a small place like Catslip?
Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.
Can you bring margaritas?
It depends on the event’s licence. Let us know how alcohol is licensed at your event.
What do you need at the pitch?
Let us know what the pitch has and we will confirm our needs. We confirm power and water with each booking.
Is the food suitable for children?
Yes, children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.
How big an event can you cater?
Our truck and trailer service typically suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers.
Do you have vegan options?
Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we will keep their options separate.
Do you do crew catering?
Yes, at set times to suit your schedule. Tell us numbers and timings.
The process
The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. A picture of the space helps. At midsummer, events in Catslip stay light until about 9:25pm, so evening trading typically finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
- We reply with our stall menu and what we need on site.
- Power, water and access are agreed in advance.
- We plan to be ready for the lunchtime rush.
- When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.
How to prepare
- Measure any gates or arches on the way in
- Ask the venue about power and water
- Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
Ask for a quote
Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will make suggestions. To start, send a quick message through our quote form.
