Mexican street food for Cutteslowe events

About our Mexican street food in Cutteslowe

A taco stall covers many diets at once: we serve vegan and vegetarian fillings and corn tortillas for gluten-free visitors. That makes your food line-up easier. For village fêtes and summer fairs and feeding crew and volunteers, we’ll put together a menu of burritos, vegan tacos and burrito bowls and more.

In Cutteslowe, one trader covering most diets keeps it simple. Tacos and burritos can do exactly that. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Cutteslowe events: pitches and permissions

Cutteslowe is about 3 miles north-west of Oxford, in Oxfordshire. Whether your event is in the middle of Cutteslowe or on the outskirts, we offer the same service: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Cutteslowe is one of 443 towns and villages in Oxfordshire we cover.

A fundraiser for a church like Roman Catholic Church of St Gregory and St Augustine might use a food truck to give visitors a reason to stay longer. A market or festival in Oxford University Parks would be licensed by whoever manages the park, and we will provide our part of the paperwork.

Mexican street food in OX2 is planned around your venue and access. From Wren Road, Scott Road and Wyatt Road or a nearby road, we will plan where to park and serve. Space, access and the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • A pitch with space around it, away from tents and structures
  • A level pitch on firm ground
  • Vehicle access to the pitch for set-up and break-down

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Questions from Cutteslowe

Do you come to school fairs around Cutteslowe?

We can, as long as the school agrees and the truck or trailer can reach the pitch. Tell us the date, the site and roughly how many visitors you expect.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Oxford University Parks?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we will confirm what’s included with your quote.

What paperwork do you provide?

Share your trader requirements, and we will send what you ask for.

Do you give allergen information?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we can’t promise a dish is allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

How long are you on site?

It depends on your event. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

Questions to ask before booking

What’s on the menu

Burritos

A filling burrito.

Vegan tacos

A real choice for vegans.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

How the day works

When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Summer events in Cutteslowe have daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer and about 7:10pm by late September, so evening trading usually finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. You get our menu and pitch requirements.
  3. Power, water and access are agreed in advance.
  4. We plan to be ready for the lunchtime rush.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

How to prepare

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
