Mexican street food in Green Cross

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

We work to your trader pack and site rules, from arrival times to waste. We serve quesadillas, burrito bowls and vegan tacos, and it’s a good fit for sports clubs and race days and open days and community events.

For a village fête or field event near Green Cross, a truck or trailer brings hot food to a rural site. Ground conditions and access matter, so tell us about them. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, with allergen information for everything we serve.

How the day works

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. Summer events in Green Cross have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, so evening trading usually finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. First, we check the dates.
  2. We agree the menu and the pitch.
  3. Paperwork goes over in good time.
  4. The hatch opens when the event does.
  5. We trade, then pack down.

How to prepare

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches

What affects the price in Green Cross

Contact us for a quote, which reflects:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • What the venue already provides
  • Timings and hours
  • The number of people

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Details that help

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • What power and water the site has
  • The venue or postcode

The quickest way to a quote is to fill in our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

Is Mexican street food right for your event?

Burger and hot dog stalls are familiar but similar. Tacos add something different to a food line-up. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Why book with us

  • Book food, drinks or both
  • A menu built around your guests
  • Allergen information for every dish
  • Access, space and power checked in advance

Planning for every diet

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Provide seating near the food
  • Send traders one clear trader pack
  • Confirm power and water with traders
  • Check every diet is covered by the line-up

Crew meals are served at set times.

Alcohol-free aguas frescas.

Questions from Green Cross

Can you bring your truck or trailer to The Flashes?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you come to school fairs around Green Cross?

We can, as long as the school agrees and the truck or trailer can reach the pitch. Tell us the date, the site and roughly how many visitors you expect.

Can you send us your trader documents?

Send your requirements and we’ll respond with our documents.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Do you cover Green Cross?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Green Cross. To check your date, fill in our quote form.

Can you trade at our festival or fair?

Tell us about your event, and we’ll confirm availability and requirements.

How spicy is the food?

We can keep it mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

Can guests build their own tacos?

We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from. Read our taco bar guide.

Space, access and the venue
