How our Mexican street food works in Milton

A Mexican food truck pulls a crowd at any outdoor event. The smell of warm tortillas and slow-cooked fillings brings people over, and orders are served quickly from the hatch. At village fêtes and summer fairs and sports clubs and race days, we’ll put together a menu of loaded nachos, burritos and vegan tacos for your guests.

A fête near Milton might be on a field with no mains power; let us know and we’ll confirm the arrangements. Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

The process

Once service is over, we pack down and clear our own area. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. A December market in Milton loses the light at about 3:55pm, so site lighting matters for traders and visitors alike. By contrast, a midsummer fair stays light until about 9:30pm.

  1. Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
  2. We reply with our stall menu and what we need on site.
  3. Power, water and access are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, we are ready before the busiest hours.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

Preparing for the day

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site

How it compares

For a stall that adds atmosphere, a Mexican food truck is a strong choice. Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

Diets, allergies and planning

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Tell traders about power and water before the day
  • Put picnic tables near the traders
  • Make allergen information visible at every stall
  • Check traders’ packaging and waste plans

We clear the pitch and leave it as we found it.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.
