Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • What the venue already provides
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Parking and the route in
  • Your choice of food and drinks

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

Details that help

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • A picture of where we’d park

Still deciding on the menu? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we’ll suggest a menu. To start, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Planning the serving area

Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Your arrangements for power, water and waste
  • Access for the truck or trailer at set-up
  • Spacing from tents and other structures

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

Step by step

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. Summer events in Stanford have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:00pm by late September, which helps evening trading. For winter markets, dark by about 3:50pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. Send us your event details and pitch information.
  2. We send our menu, needs and the documents you ask for.
  3. We arrive and set up at the agreed time.
  4. We serve to order through the event.
  5. We clear and leave the pitch clean.

Getting ready for the day

Questions from Stanford

What’s the nearest station to Stanford for guests?

Westenhanger station, in Stanford itself.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Sandling Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

How long are you on site?

We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

Is the food very hot?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Do you cater in Stanford?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Stanford. For a quote, tell us about it on our contact page.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms, served alongside the meat options.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes. We offer dairy-free options.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.
