Running an event in West End

West End is about 2 miles east of Southampton, in Hampshire. For an event in West End, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards. We cover 683 places across Hampshire.

A school such as Saint James' Church of England Primary School running a summer fair could book a taco truck. A fundraiser for a church like Church of St James might use a food truck to give visitors a reason to stay longer. The coast is within about 4 miles of West End, so for seaside events we plan a sheltered pitch, on firm ground rather than sand.

We cover events in every part of SO30 and SO18. Local streets include High Street, Hatch Mead and Glenlea Close; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. If your venue is just outside West End, we also cover Chartwell Green (1 mile west), Harefield (1 mile south), Townhill Park (1 mile west), Midanbury (1 mile west) and Mansbridge (1 mile north-west). Larger places within reach include Winchester (9 miles north), Gosport (12 miles south-east), Eastleigh (3 miles north), Fareham (8 miles south-east), Horndean (14 miles east) and Totton (7 miles west).

Well-known places in the area include Netley Castle (3.7 miles south) and Marlands Shopping Centre (3.3 miles south-west). Not far away are Netley Common.

  • Schools near West End include Woodlands Community College (0.7 miles south) and The Gregg School (0.8 miles west)

Your questions about Mexican street food in West End

Do you come to school fairs around West End?

We can, as long as the school agrees and the truck or trailer can reach the pitch. Tell us the date, the site and roughly how many visitors you expect.

How far is West End from central London?

About 67 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so get in touch early.

Do you need power?

Let us know what the pitch has and we will confirm our needs. Power and water are agreed with each booking.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Will you have a stall at our event?

Tell us about your event, and we will reply with our availability and what we need.

Is there a vegan option at your stall?

Yes. Vegan fillings such as spiced mushrooms or black beans are on the menu.

For event organisers in West End

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in West End? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

Comparing your options

Crew sandwiches are easy but dull. A hot meal keeps crew happy. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.

Why us?

  • A menu built around your guests
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • Access, space and power checked in advance
  • A clear quote

Can I do a taco night myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Provide seating near the food
  • Make allergen information visible at every stall
  • Share power and water details early
  • Check every diet is covered by the line-up

If crew or volunteer meals are booked, they’re served at the agreed times.

How it works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. Summer events in West End have daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer and about 7:10pm by late September, so evening trading generally finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. We check your dates.
  2. We agree what we’ll serve and where.
  3. We send the paperwork your event asks for.
  4. We’re ready to serve as visitors arrive.
  5. We trade, then pack down.

Getting ready for the day

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

How to get a price

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will come back with a clear quote.
