Mexican catering in BR8

How Mexican catering works in BR8

Mobile Mexican catering means the kitchen comes to you: we park our truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. You do not need a kitchen at the venue. It suits markets and community events and company summer parties, serving loaded nachos, burritos and fresh salsas and guacamole.

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Nearer the date, we go over the final plan.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. When you’re done, we pack away.

What it costs in BR8

Planning a food truck in BR8

From Swanley, Hextable and Crockenhill to 5 villages and hamlets, events across BR8 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and a truck or trailer suits most settings with access and level ground. In towns, plan parking and loading; in villages, tell us about lanes, gates and ground.

Swanley: If people are travelling in by rail, Swanley station is in Swanley itself. Parents planning a fundraiser at a school like St Bartholomew's Catholic Primary School might find a Mexican street-food truck draws families in. A December event in Swanley will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle

What’s on the menu

Loaded nachos

Tortilla chips piled with cheese, a filling, salsa, guacamole and toppings, made for sharing.

Build-your-own taco bar

A taco bar is relaxed and sociable, and it makes mixed diets easy, with every dish labelled.

Organising for someone else?

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Occasions we cater for in BR8

  • Weddings and evening receptions
  • Company summer parties
  • Summer garden parties
  • Big birthday celebrations

Mexican catering or something else?

A plated meal needs a kitchen and a larger team. A food truck or trailer is its own kitchen, and needs a suitable spot, safe access and the venue’s agreement.

  • How many staff are serving, and for how long

BR8: your questions answered

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a picture and we will talk it through.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect, and we’ll keep their options separate.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we’ll tell you which dishes contain milk.

Which areas do you serve?

We cater across London and the South East, Kent included. See all areas.

How is the food prepared?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Can you serve drinks as well?

We can. Our Mexican drinks bar serves margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Licensing is checked with you first.

Can you keep it mild?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.
