About Mexican catering in DA9

Tacos are the heart of the menu: warm tortillas with your choice of fillings, plus fresh salsas, guacamole and toppings. Burritos, burrito bowls, loaded nachos and quesadillas can sit alongside them. Popular choices include tacos, burrito bowls and fresh salsas and guacamole, which works well for company summer parties and leaving dos and retirement parties.

Catering events across DA9

There are 3 towns and 0 villages and hamlets in DA9, so the setting can be anything from Swanscombe, Greenhithe and Stone to a quiet hamlet: a level, firm spot, a way in and agreed timings.

Swanscombe: Thinking of an event in Castle Hill Park? Public parks usually need the landowner’s permission for a food truck, so check first. If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Knockhall Primary School, a taco truck can be a crowd-pleaser. Around midsummer it stays light in Swanscombe until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

Comparing your options

A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Hot food served from a truck feels like part of the event.

  • How dietary needs and allergies are handled
  • The venue requirements
  • VAT, if it applies

About the menu

Build-your-own taco bar

A taco bar is relaxed and sociable, and guests with different diets can choose what suits them, with every dish labelled.

Tacos

Street tacos are small, quick and full of flavour. They come with fresh salsas and toppings.

Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:

  • Serving staff
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Parking and the route in
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • What power and water the site has
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, fill in our quote form.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain
  • Put guests with severe allergies in touch with us early

If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests help themselves.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar.

Why street food works

Guests enjoy building their own plate, and the taco bar gets them talking while they queue.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Festivals, fairs and markets
  • Engagement celebrations
  • Summer garden parties
  • Staff parties and office lunches

Common questions in DA9

Do you take everything away?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes. We offer dairy-free options.

Do you do parties at home?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Send us a picture and we will talk it through.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, like a marquee or gazebo.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Our truck and trailer service typically suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your event and menu. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we’ll go through the licensing with you.
