How Mexican catering works in OX11
With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: we park our truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. You do not need a kitchen at the venue. It works well for festivals, fairs and markets and retirement and leaving parties, serving a build-your-own taco bar, burrito bowls and loaded nachos.
Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered.
- Send us your date, numbers and venue.
- Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
- We confirm the way in and where we will park.
- Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
- After the last serving, we clear our area.

Landmarks near Didcot
In Didcot, that could mean a party near The Queens Arms, Manor Primary School and UTC Oxfordshire and the streets around them. Nearby too are Church of All Saints (less than half a mile north-west) and Didcot Girls' School (under half a mile south-west). There is a railway station in Didcot itself: Didcot Parkway station. Nearby you will also find Abingdon Community Hospital (4.8 miles north-west) and Brightwell Castle (3.4 miles east). The countryside around Didcot includes Mowbray Fields and Wittenham Clumps.
Taco catering in OX11: local guide
OX11 covers everything from Didcot, Great Western Park and Harwell to 13 small villages and hamlets, and a truck or trailer suits most settings with access and level ground. In towns, plan parking and loading; in villages, tell us about lanes, gates and ground. The North Wessex Downs National Landscape is within easy reach of places across OX11, where some venues have extra rules about vehicles and catering.
Didcot: Reaching Didcot by road is easy for us, thanks to the A4130 and B4016. When the service is at a church such as Church of All Saints, the food generally happens elsewhere, at a field, hall or garden with room for the truck. Around midsummer it stays light in Didcot until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.
The menu, item by item
Loaded nachos
Crisp tortilla chips loaded with toppings, salsa and guacamole.
Tacos
Tacos are the classic street food of Mexico. We serve them with salsas and toppings, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.
Should I do it myself?
You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.
If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.
Who books Mexican catering?
It is colourful, generous food that suits a relaxed event.

We have allergen information for every dish at the hatch, so guests can check before they order.

FAQs for OX11
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we check every dish and give allergen information.
Is the food made fresh?
Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.
Can you cater for children?
Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.
How long are you on site?
It depends on your event. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.
Can you come to a private house?
Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a photo of the access and the space.
What guest numbers do you cater for?
That depends on the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, but tell us your numbers and we’ll take it from there.
Do you do margaritas?
Yes. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.
