Mexican street food across PO14

Mexican catering across PO14

Mexican street food makes mixed diets simple. There are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests, and we give allergen information for every dish. It works well for birthday parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food, serving tacos, fresh salsas and guacamole and a build-your-own taco bar.

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a sample menu and send a quote for your event.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. On the day we arrive, set up and serve hot food from our food truck or trailer.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

What it costs in PO14

What’s near Stubbington

In Stubbington, that could mean a party near The Osborne View pub, Stubbington House School and Crofton Anne Dale Junior School and the streets around them. You will also find Holy Rood Church (within half a mile east) and Crofton School (0.6 miles east). The closest station to Stubbington is Fareham station, roughly 2.3 miles north-east of the centre. A little further out are Gosport War Memorial Hospital (3.7 miles south-east) and Carron Row Farm Museum (2.5 miles north). Not far away are West of the River Alver.

Catering events across PO14

PO14 covers everything from Fareham, Stubbington and Locks Heath to 8 small villages and hamlets, and a food truck or trailer can work in all of them, given access. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access and ground. 16 of the places we cover in PO14 are within about 6 miles of the sea, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events.

Stubbington: If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Holy Rood Church, a truck or trailer parked at a hall or garden close by can serve the meal. If people are travelling in by rail, Fareham station is about 2.3 miles away. In Stubbington, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

What’s on the menu

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are simple and comforting, and they go down well with children.

Build-your-own taco bar

Fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings laid out for guests to help themselves, with warm tortillas to fill. Each guest makes tacos their way.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • A spot for a taco-bar serving table
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue

Planners, venues and businesses

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Catering for every guest

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Ask the venue whether food trucks are allowed
  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Send allergy details to us in writing

Guests order at the hatch and we serve them there and then, so it’s hot when it reaches them.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

PO14 questions

Do you cook on site?

We cook to order in our truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including PO14.

What happens if it rains?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

How does mobile Mexican catering work?

We arrive with our own mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests?

Diets are planned in advance, with options kept separate, but we can’t promise a kitchen without traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
