Mexican catering in SM3: what to expect

Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so let us know how many you expect. On the menu are loaded nachos, tacos and a build-your-own taco bar, which works well for school fairs and fundraisers and family gatherings and christenings.

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

What it costs in SM3

Mexican catering across SM3: what to know

Across SM3, we cater in 3 towns and 1 villages and hamlets, so the setting can be anything from Sutton, Morden and North Cheam to a quiet hamlet: a level, firm spot, a way in and agreed timings.

North Cheam: For a fête or sports day at a school such as Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy, hot food from a truck or trailer saves the volunteers from cooking. Close to North Cheam are historic houses such as Nonsuch Mansion (1 mile south) and Fitznells Manor (1.9 miles south-west). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and vehicles early. From late May to late September, sunset in North Cheam moves from about 8:50pm to 7:05pm. Let us know if service will run after dark, and we will talk about lighting.

Planners, venues and businesses

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

What Mexican catering costs

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • How long we are needed on site
  • What the venue already provides

There is no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican catering. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • A picture of where we’d park

We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, use our quote form.

How it compares

Pizza and burger vans are familiar choices. Tacos, burritos and nachos feel a little different, yet it is still food most guests know and like.

Questions to ask before you book

  • If the price includes VAT
  • Who provides plates and napkins
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • Exactly what’s included in the price

Before you choose a spot

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and help find another spot. The main points are:

  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle
  • A spot for a taco-bar serving table

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.
