How our wedding Mexican catering works in Calcot

We time service around your day: after the drinks reception, between the speeches or once evening guests arrive. We go over timings with your venue beforehand. It works well for parties after a register office wedding and farm and barn venues, with quesadillas, a taco bar for the wedding breakfast and burrito bowls.

In Calcot, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a personal choice. A truck or trailer parked by the marquee fits right in. Let us know about gates and ground for the truck or trailer. We prepare everything fresh for your wedding and serve it straight from our food truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Organising for someone else?

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Diets, allergies and planning

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one
  • Share your running order, including speeches
  • Put us in touch with your venue
  • Count day and evening guests separately

The truck or trailer can be placed where guests can see it.

A wider choice of salsas and toppings fills out the taco bar.

Questions from Calcot

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Michael?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Is it possible to have you in Calcot Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we will plan the menu around them.

Do you come to Calcot?

Yes, we do. Calcot is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

Do you do a taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Let us know your numbers and space and we will recommend how to serve.

Can you cater for vegans and gluten-free guests?

Diets are planned in advance and kept separate. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the wedding.

Do you cater for suppliers?

Just add them to your numbers. Let us know when they need feeding.

Do you need power and water?

Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

How it works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. At midsummer, sunset in Calcot is about 9:25pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:10pm in late September.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, day and evening numbers and your plans.
  2. You get a suggested wedding menu and a quote to match.
  3. We agree access, timings, power and water with you and your venue.
  4. On the day we set up and serve when your running order says.
  5. We pack down after service and leave our area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time

Space, access and the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but a few things matter:

  • Agreement from the venue to bring a food truck or trailer on site
  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • A clear area in front of the hatch for a queue

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.
