Wedding Mexican catering for Capel events

Wedding Mexican catering in Capel, served fresh

Evening guests want something hot, quick and filling, and tacos or loaded nachos from our food truck or trailer fit the bill without stopping the dancing for long. At vow renewals and blessings and marquee and garden weddings, we’ll put together a menu of a taco bar for the wedding breakfast, burrito bowls and tacos and more.

A wedding in a small place like Capel often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That is where a food truck comes into its own: no venue kitchen needed, just level, firm ground and a way in. Let us know about access, ground, power and water. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Tacos, lime wedges, salsa and tortilla chips set out on a party drinks trolley

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Comparing your options

Many food trucks only cover evening food. We can do the main meal as well, so one caterer covers the day. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

What you get with us

  • Menus chosen with you
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Allergen information for every dish
  • We cover Capel and the whole of Kent

The process

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can spend time with your guests. By late September, sunset in Capel is around 7:00pm, so an evening taco service may start as the light fades. In late May it stays light until about 8:50pm.

  1. You send us your wedding date, venue, numbers and how you see the day.
  2. We plan the food with you: wedding breakfast, evening food or both.
  3. We agree access, timings, power and water with you and your venue.
  4. On the day, we set up and serve on cue, around speeches and photos.
  5. Once service is done, we pack away quietly.

Planning help

How we price wedding Mexican catering

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • The number of people
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Serving staff

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of where we’d park

To get a price, just use our quote form. Give us the details of your wedding, and we will suggest a menu to suit.

Getting married in Capel?

Capel is about 3 miles south-east of Tonbridge, in Kent. Wherever your wedding is in the TN12 area, we can serve your guests, as long as there is access. We cover 922 places in Kent, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. You can also see our page for London, about 29 miles away.

A wedding party gathering in Foal Hurst Wood may need the park owner’s agreement, so ask before the day. Say your vows at a church like Church of St Thomas à Becket, then head to a garden, barn or marquee where the truck or trailer is waiting. Service can start as guests arrive. Couples near Capel have the High Weald National Landscape within about 8 miles, if a countryside setting appeals. Barns and fields there can be reached down narrow tracks, so we check the route with the venue.

Capel questions

What’s the nearest station to Capel for guests?

The closest is Paddock Wood station, roughly 2 miles away.

Do you come out to small places like Capel?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Are plates and napkins included?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we will talk it through.

Can we add margaritas?

Yes, our Mexican drinks bar serves margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. Licensing is checked with you and the venue.

Do you do parties at home?

Yes, as long as there is access and a level, firm spot. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

Do you need electricity?

Let us know what’s available on site, for example a supply from the venue, and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Can you do the wedding breakfast and evening food?

Yes: one part of the day, or both main meals. Tell us what you have in mind.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Think about a covered space for wet weather

After service, we clear our area; the evening carries on without us.

Include your suppliers in the numbers if you add them to the final count.

For planners, venues and organisers

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.
