How our wedding Mexican catering works in Trotton

We time service around your day: after the drinks reception, between the speeches or once evening guests arrive. We go over timings with your venue beforehand. Popular choices include tacos, a taco bar for the wedding breakfast and burrito bowls, and it suits marquee and garden weddings and evening wedding food.

A wedding in a small place like Trotton often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That’s where a food truck comes into its own: no venue kitchen needed, just level, firm ground and a way in. Let us know about access, ground, power and water. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before booking.

  • Burritos and bowls
  • Taco bar wedding breakfast

What happens on the day

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. In Trotton, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, so evening tacos are normally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. We start by checking your date.
  2. You choose the fillings, sides and extras.
  3. We confirm access and the serving spot with your coordinator.
  4. Guests build their tacos at the taco bar or order at the hatch.
  5. After serving, we clear away.

Getting ready for the day

Can I do a taco night myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

What wedding Mexican catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Your choice of food and drinks

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • The venue or postcode
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • The date and time of the event

The quickest way to a quote is to send us your details through our quote form. Give us the details of your wedding, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

Common questions in Trotton

Do you cater in villages like Trotton?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the South Downs National Park?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Our truck and trailer service normally suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Can you feed our photographer and band?

Yes. Include suppliers in your numbers.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. For alcohol, we will talk licensing through with you and your venue.

Do you take everything away?

We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

What happens if it rains?

Rain doesn’t normally stop service from the truck or trailer. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

Working with your venue

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Catering for every guest

We cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Tell us about guests with coeliac disease or severe allergies
  • Enquire early for summer Saturdays
  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Plan a covered area for eating in case of rain

We park where the venue agrees, ideally where guests can see us.

Loaded nachos make easy evening food.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
