About our wedding Mexican catering in Wonersh

Wedding taco bars feel relaxed, generous and a little different. Everyone fills their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, and the queue becomes a chance to chat. At late-evening wedding food and sharing-style wedding meals, we can serve tacos, a taco bar for the wedding breakfast and quesadillas for your guests.

A wedding in a small place like Wonersh often means a field, a barn or a family garden. A truck or trailer works well there: no venue kitchen needed, just level, firm ground and a way in. Tell us about lanes, gates and ground conditions. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

FAQs for Wonersh

How far is Wonersh from central London?

It is about 28 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you come to events in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

Can you serve in the rain?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

What do you need at the venue?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a photo of the space and the way in.

Can you cater in a back garden?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a picture of the access and the space.

How big an event can you cater?

Our truck and trailer service generally suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we will advise.

Can you cater for all our guests’ diets?

Diets are planned in advance and kept separate. Ask any guests with severe allergies to speak to us first.

What affects the price in Wonersh

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Timings and hours
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Guest numbers

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

What we need to know

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Where the event is

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, fill in our quote form.

Working with your venue

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

The process

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. Afterwards we clear our area. For a summer wedding in Wonersh, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so evening tacos are usually served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting around the truck or trailer.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, day and evening numbers and your plans.
  2. We plan the food with you: wedding breakfast, evening food or both.
  3. We confirm access, the serving spot and the running order with the venue.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve the food at the agreed times.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Preparing for the day

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
