Mexican catering in Bitterne Park

Mexican catering in Bitterne Park, from our food truck or trailer

Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so let us know how many you expect. At festivals, fairs and markets and engagement and anniversary parties, we will put together a menu of a build-your-own taco bar, tacos and fresh salsas and guacamole for your guests.

Around Bitterne Park, events are often in gardens, fields, local halls or nearby venues. If the road in is narrow or the ground is soft, tell us so we can plan for the truck or trailer. You can book food, drinks or both, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply
  • Mention any other caterers or courses

We can still serve from the hatch if it rains, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Loaded nachos make a good sharing starter.

Bitterne Park questions

Which station is closest to Bitterne Park?

Guests can use Bitterne station, about 0.5 miles south-west of Bitterne Park.

Do you cater at coastal events near Bitterne Park?

Yes, with permission for the spot and firm ground for the truck or trailer. Wind, sand and seafront permissions are the main things to plan on the coast.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes, on request. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we’ll include them in the plan.

Can you come to a private house?

That depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

Can you plan for allergies?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

What if the weather’s bad?

We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.

Can you cater for children?

Yes. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Step by step

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. Evenings in Bitterne Park stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. Festoon lights or floodlights help once it gets dark.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we’ll park.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Planning the serving area

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • A spot away from buildings, windows and neighbours

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.
