Mexican catering for Maybush events

Mexican catering for your event in Maybush

A build-your-own taco bar is one of the most sociable ways to feed a crowd. Guests fill their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, so each plate is exactly how they like it. It works well for staff parties and office lunches and retirement and leaving parties, serving loaded nachos, tacos and burritos.

For a place the size of Maybush, your own garden or drive is often the best venue: no venue to hire and no cooking for you. Let us know about the route to the house. Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

The process

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. Around midsummer it stays light in Maybush until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 4:00pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

How to prepare

Planning for every diet

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Flag anyone with coeliac disease
  • Collect dietary needs when guests reply
  • Tell us how many children are coming

On the day, we arrive in good time to park up and get ready. Someone from the venue just needs to point us to the agreed spot.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or serving staff and we will set out what we can do in your quote.

Before you choose a spot

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • Some distance from houses and neighbours
  • A spot for a taco-bar serving table

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before booking.

Maybush: your questions answered

Is it possible to have you in St James' Park?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Which station is closest to Maybush?

Redbridge station, about 1.2 miles south-west of the centre.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.

How soon do we need to book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.

Do you come to Maybush?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Maybush. To check your date, fill in our quote form.

Do you have options for kids?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

What’s on the menu?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

What Mexican catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Food, drinks or both
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Serving staff
  • Your choice of food and drinks

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

To speed things up, tell us:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
