Our truck and trailer service tends to suit around 50 to 400 guests. Larger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case, so let us know how many you expect. Popular choices include a build-your-own taco bar, fresh salsas and guacamole and loaded nachos, which works well for garden parties and retirement and leaving parties.

A place like Britwell may have a hall or a club with a car park nearby; any can work, given permission and level ground to park on. We will check the space, access and power with you before the day, so set-up goes smoothly.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Space, access and the venue

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one
  • Permission from the venue or landowner

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

FAQs for Britwell

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which station should guests use for Britwell?

Burnham station, about 1.2 miles south-west of the centre.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, with allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we can’t promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Where do you cater?

London and South East England: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Britwell.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

It depends on the event. As a guide, it is around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we’ll plan around them.

Can we add a bar?

Yes. Our Mexican drinks bar serves margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Licensing is checked with you first.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

Can you keep it mild?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Diets, allergies and planning

Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain
  • Tell us how many children are coming

Rain does not stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

How it works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Around midsummer it stays light in Britwell until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Start by telling us about your event.
  2. You get a sample menu and a quote.
  3. Access, the serving spot, power and water are agreed in advance.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve from the hatch.
  5. Once service ends, we clear away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Find out what power and water are available

Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Timings and hours
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Guest numbers
  • The menu you choose

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Where the event is

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will suggest a menu. To start, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
