How our Mexican catering works in Chattenden

Our truck or trailer travels to events across Chattenden and nearby: gardens, fields, yards and venues with hardstanding. It suits festivals, fairs and markets and weddings and evening receptions, serving loaded nachos, burrito bowls and a build-your-own taco bar.

For a rural spot like Chattenden, fields and drives need a little planning: gate widths, soft ground and the distance from the road all matter. We confirm power and water arrangements with you before the day. You can book food, drinks or both, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

How it works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. Planning an evening event in Chattenden? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:00pm in late September. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we will park.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.

Taco catering in Chattenden: local tips

Chattenden is about 2 miles north-east of Rochester, in Medway. For an event in Chattenden, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards. Chattenden is one of 68 places in Medway we cover. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 26 miles away.

For a christening or wedding at a church such as Bishop Gundulph Church, a food truck at a garden or venue nearby is an easy way to feed everyone. Before you pencil in Lower Lines Park, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

A plated meal needs a kitchen and a larger team. A food truck or trailer is its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you can choose what you need.

Chattenden: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at Bishop Gundulph Church?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How far is Chattenden from central London?

It’s about 28 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on the event. As a guide, it’s around 50 to 400 guests; tell us your numbers and we will take it from there.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.

What if the weather’s bad?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we will go through the licensing with you.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Ask us when you enquire. Tell us what your venue provides, and we will confirm what’s included with your quote.

What space do you need?

Send us details of the venue and the access, and we’ll check it works. Space for a queue and, if you choose one, a taco-bar table helps too.

Planners, venues and businesses

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Catering for every guest

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle
  • Have a covered area ready in case of rain
  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance

We arrive early enough to set up calmly. All we need is someone to show us the agreed spot.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

What we need at the venue

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.
