Mexican catering near Luton

Catering for every guest

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Put guests with severe allergies in touch with us early

Rain does not stop us serving from the truck or trailer, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.

A tray of loaded nachos works well to start.

How our Mexican catering works in Luton

The menu starts with tacos: warmed tortillas, a choice of fillings, and salsas, guacamole and toppings to finish. We can add burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. It suits fundraisers and school events and garden parties, serving fresh salsas and guacamole, loaded nachos and burrito bowls.

For a place the size of Luton, your own garden or drive is often the best venue: no venue hire, and nobody stuck in the kitchen. Let us know about the route to the house. We plan the timings around your day, so service starts when you want it.

Organising for someone else?

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.

Questions from Luton

Is it possible to have you in Gillingham Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Check with them, and we will provide what they ask for from us.

What’s the nearest station to Luton for guests?

Guests can use Chatham station, about 1 mile north-west of Luton.

What access do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a picture of the space and the way in.

Who clears up?

We clear our own area when service is finished. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

What is mobile Mexican catering?

Our food truck or trailer is a mobile kitchen. We set up at your venue, serve hot food to order and pack down afterwards.

Do you have dairy-free options?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we’ll tell you which dishes contain milk.

What can we choose from?

Tacos and taco bars, plus burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. See our sample menu.

How much is a food truck for an event?

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a quote.

How the day works

Here’s how the day generally runs: we arrive and set up, service opens at the agreed time, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. In Luton, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. It begins with the basics: your date, venue, guest numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu, with fillings agreed with you, and a quote.
  3. Together we confirm where the truck or trailer will park, plus power and water.
  4. We arrive, set up and cook to order, with salsas and guacamole made fresh.
  5. When service ends, we pack down and clear our area.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Mexican catering around Luton

Luton is about 1 mile north of Chatham, in Medway. Events in Luton are planned around your venue and timings: a quote, a plan and friendly service on the day. We cater in 68 places across Medway, from the larger towns to small villages. We cater right across the region, from Luton to Canterbury (about 24 miles away).

Before you pencil in Gillingham Park, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement. If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Luton Infant & Nursery School, a taco truck can be a crowd-pleaser.

For Mexican catering in ME4, ME5 and ME7, we plan around your venue and the route in. From Mill Lane, Luton Road and Maida Road or a nearby road, we’ll plan where to park and serve. We also serve at events in Hale (1 mile south-east), Chatham (1 mile south), Darland (1 mile south-east), Chatham Waterfront (1 mile north-west) and Capstone (1 mile south-east). Further out, we also cater in Rainham (3 miles east), Strood (3 miles north-west), Park Wood (3 miles south-east), Hoo St Werburgh (4 miles north), Wigmore (3 miles east) and Peters Village (4 miles south-west). Luton is one of the larger places we cover in Medway, with plenty of venues for events.

  • Nearby schools include The Victory Academy (under half a mile south-west) and Hospital and Medical Tuition Service (0.7 miles north-east)
  • Nearby, you’ll find The Magpie Tavern (within half a mile north)
  • Local facilities include Chatham Free Library (0.7 miles north) and City of Rochester-upon-Medway (2.3 miles north-west)

What Mexican catering costs

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Travel, parking and access

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Where the event is
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Expected numbers

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll suggest a menu. When you’re ready, send a quick message through our quote form.

Where the truck can go in Luton

Before the day, we’ll agree where we park and serve. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Permission from the venue or landowner
  • Space for guests to queue
  • Room for a serving table for the taco bar

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Comparing your options

A plated meal needs a kitchen and a larger team. A food truck or trailer is its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so share your ideas with us. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.
